The Purpose and Objectives of Australia Korea Cultural Exchange Association Inc. (AKCEA)

1.1 Purpose /Objectives

AKCEA is established to be a charity with the purpose of Advancing culture and Promotion mutual respect and tolerance between all groups of people in Australia through the creation of more diverse and inclusive cultural activities and programs for the benefit of individuals, organizations and the multicultural community, with a focus on individuals, new arrivals, and seniors that have been disadvantaged or under- resourced or underserved neighbourhoods people(Charitable Purpose) by providing the following activities.:

1.2 Activities

The activities of the association must be conducted in the furtherance of its Charitable Purpose and may include to:

(a) provide the opportunity to people or organization to participate and create more diverse and inclusive cultural activities and programs for the observance of multicultural

customs, festivals and ceremonies, obtaining recognition of title over ancestral lands and undertaking cultural responsibilities in respect of ancestral lands.

(b)  establish and demonstrate what is multicultural activities to provide opportunities for conversing with many non- English background people for diversity and inclusion in Australia;

(c)  assist community and members to implement successful diversity and inclusion programs and providing resources in Korean/English language.

(d)  educate the public about the importance and benefits of our multicultural community.

(e)  hold an annual multicultural festival so that all people have the opportunity to share their culture with others in the community, and ensure that local government is aware of and able to provide culturally-appropriate facilities and services for all people in the community, to ensure that all members of the community feel included.

(f)  recognize the aboriginal people as the traditional owner of the land which is now home to the Wreck Bay Village

(g)  any other activities ancillary to or necessary for the fulfilment of the Charitable Purpose.
